Brian Lacher appointed as new member of NFPA 407 Committee

This month, the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) announced new members of its 407 Committee. Among them is Brian Lacher, Fuel Farm Specialist at Garsite Progress LLC. As such, Lacher will participate in discussions and decisions around standards pertaining to fire safety for aircraft fuel servicing.

Additionally, this committee is responsible for documents on fire safety procedures, equipment, and installations for aircraft fuel servicing, according to the NFPA website.

Committee members are chosen based on their qualifications and interest in the various topics. Once appointed, members meet periodically to review and sometimes edit documents related to fire safety procedures and standards.

“I am passionate about the Fire Safety Standard of the safe petroleum product fueling of aircraft,” Lacher said. “I want to be involved with this committee to have clear and instructive verbiage that produces the safest, most reasonable fueling process.”

Garsite is a leader in the aviation refueling market. As such, it encourages its employees to be active in various parts of the industry.

“Our entire organization values and appreciates Brian’s continuing dedication to his craft and the industry,” Vice President of Sales at Garsite, Matt Decker said. “We are proud to have him on the team.”
