Filter Monitor Elements

EI-1583 7th Edition qualified filter monitor elements to cease production

On September 3, 2024, A4A released Bulletin 2024.2, “Filter Monitor Availability,” announcing that the remaining manufacturer, Velcon, will soon cease production of EI-1583 7th Edition qualified filter monitor elements.

These SAP filter monitors will likely become obsolete by Q3 2025, or sooner based on material availability, historical customer demand, and production capabilities.

We are actively preparing to support the industry’s transition away from the discontinued SAP filter monitors. We will continuously update this page with available solutions, so make sure to check back for the latest updates.

What’s Next?

For towable hydrant carts, we suggest replacing the existing monitor vessel with the Faudi FW24 vessel. This solution will be offered as a bolt-in kit, which will include two prefabricated pipes, four mounting adapters, and one bracket. Additionally, the kit will come with the Sluggard water detection sensor and a box to integrate the relay into the cart’s electrical system.

You will be able to self-install, or our team can complete the conversion in approximately eight hours or less. The Faudi FW24 vessel is rated for 350 GPM and will include a pilot for rate of flow control.

While pricing is not yet available from Faudi, we will update this page once we finalize this retrofit solution.

We will have the kit available for easy online ordering via our parts store, or we can coordinate your order in conjunction with installation services by leveraging our traveling technicians and our expansive GSE maintenance network. In many cases, we can provide loaner carts to customers during the installation process.

We can also offer solutions to support the conversion of your refueler trucks, hydrant trucks, and tank farm operations.

Reach out to our team to discuss how our team can support your compliance as the deadline approaches, and let us know if you are interested in being added to our conversion kit waitlist!
